Interpretive Summary Reflection

I started writing this summary after finding a source about writing per my assignment guidelines. The article A Reciprocal Peer Review System to Support College Students' Writing caught my attention because it was about college students. This made the assignment easier for me because I was actually interested in reading the article and I was able to easily summarize it and draw my own conclusions.

My professor wrote on my paper that I did a good job contextualizing the study in my introduction. In that paragraph I detailed the basics of the study and discussed the results in the final few sentences. In my next paragraph I discussed the author's main point and added my own personal taste by writing exactly what I was thinking as I read the article , "Well of course peer review is helpful, how could it not be?". My professor found that interesting. Overall, he said I did a solid job with this piece, but there are areas I could improve on. Namely, being more clear at what I intended to say when drawing conclusions and why I came to them.

When writing this paper the main strategy I had to employ was noticing the little details and trying to read between the lines. This was especially important for my final paragraph where I discussed the ulterior motive that the author had for doing the study. I also thought that was the most interesting part of writing the paper because I had to think completely for myself instead of summarizing what the author already wrote.
